Photos of recent crafts
(22 April 2004):

This is one of the broad sides to a pocketbook I just made. I colour-copied the front of a NASCAR magazine, (with my favourite driver on the cover), and encased it in clear vynal. In the background, you can see part of a blanket that I knitted.

The other broad side of my new purse. On the computer, I put together a page of myself with a bunch of NASCAR drivers I've met.

Here's one of the narrow sides. The top picture is an actual Coca-Cola playing card that has Michael Waltrip on it. The bottom picture is a colour copy of the ticket for my very first NASCAR race, a Busch Series race in May 2002.

I used another Coca-Cola playing card on the other narrow side of my purse. Below it is a colour copy of a small metal Michael Waltrip license plate that my mother gave me.

This is the bottom of my pocketbook. I scanned a Michael Waltrip Fan Club sticker onto the computer, and added the text for my fan site, mikeypower.com.

Here's the pocketbook's inside, where I used Coca-Cola fleece. I sewed a ring into it so that I can hang my keys there. That way, it's less likely I'll lose them.

I finished knitting this blanket a few weeks ago. It is over eight feet wide, and about four and a half feet tall. As you can see, it can cover an average-sized sofa. It took me about a year to make this blanket; it's my first completed knitting project. You can also see my cat Scully in the background.

You can see the stitching up-close. I'm using it to display the Mikey Power bracelet I made with Heisha shell, metal flower, and alphabet beads.

Here's a better shot of that bracelet.
